Hello! I’m Leandra.

I’m a writer and editor based in Japan. Like most freelancers, I wear several hats. Mine? Travel and hospitality journalist, health content writer, book reviewer, SEO editor, and content marketing writer and editor.

Health and Wellness Content

As a health content marketing writer, I write blogs, branded health content articles, and more for a variety of health and wellness brands. My niches include:

  • FemTech
  • Sexual and reproductive health
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Mental health

You can find my healthcare content at SingleCare, Ro, Hone Health, Saatva, and more.

Travel Journalism

As an independent health and travel journalist, I’m always on the lookout for exciting new hotels (I have a soft spot for boutique hotels and remote lodges!), wellness-related travel experiences, sustainable properties, and great spa experiences. If it’s got a distinct sense of place and promotes wellness for all parties — people and planet — I’m interested.

The best path to writing about travel? Traveling. At the moment, I split my time between Yokohama, Japan, and the US Midwest, with plenty of trips (press and personal) sprinkled throughout.

Books Contributor

As a book reviewer and contributor to the Books section of Reader’s Digest, I’m always open to getting ARCs (advance reading copies) via NetGalley. Reading and writing are two of my greatest joys, so contributing book recommendations and reviews to publications is one of the most fun parts of the job.

Bookish writing highlights? Interviewing Emily Henry about Happy Place and getting my hands on many a beach read and thriller for pockets of time spent on public transportation, in airports, and, of course, poolside.

Other Content Marketing Writing

In addition to health and travel, I have covered B2B and B2C real estate and and hospitality content.

As for content marketing writing for individuals and small companies? Most of that is ghostwritten. If you’re looking for help with newsletters, blog posts, or white papers, I’m happy to share a list of brands and clients.
